Background

This module allows you to control the appearance of the " "virtual desktops. TDE offers a variety of options for customization, " "including the ability to specify different settings for each virtual " "desktop, or a common background for all of them.

The appearance of the " "desktop results from the combination of its background colors and patterns, " "and optionally, wallpaper, which is based on the image from a graphic " "file.

The background can be made up of a single color, or a pair of " "colors which can be blended in a variety of patterns. Wallpaper is also " "customizable, with options for tiling and stretching images. The wallpaper " "can be overlaid opaquely, or blended in different ways with the background " "colors and patterns.

TDE allows you to have the wallpaper change " "automatically at specified intervals of time. You can also replace the " "background with a program that updates the desktop dynamically. For example, " "the \"kworldclock\" program shows a day/night map of the world which is " "updated periodically." msgstr "" #: bgdialog.cpp:448 msgid "Desktop %1 Viewport %2" msgstr "" #: bgdialog.cpp:455 #, c-format msgid "Screen %1" msgstr "" #: bgdialog.cpp:458 msgid "Single Color" msgstr "" #: bgdialog.cpp:459 msgid "Horizontal Gradient" msgstr "" #: bgdialog.cpp:460 msgid "Vertical Gradient" msgstr "" #: bgdialog.cpp:461 msgid "Pyramid Gradient" msgstr "" #: bgdialog.cpp:462 msgid "Pipecross Gradient" msgstr "" #: bgdialog.cpp:463 msgid "Elliptic Gradient" msgstr "" #: bgdialog.cpp:478 msgid "Centered" msgstr "" #: bgdialog.cpp:479 msgid "Tiled" msgstr "" #: bgdialog.cpp:480 msgid "Center Tiled" msgstr "" #: bgdialog.cpp:481 msgid "Centered Maxpect" msgstr "" #: bgdialog.cpp:482 msgid "Tiled Maxpect" msgstr "" #: bgdialog.cpp:483 msgid "Scaled" msgstr "" #: bgdialog.cpp:484 msgid "Centered Auto Fit" msgstr "" #: bgdialog.cpp:485 msgid "Scale & Crop" msgstr "" #: bgdialog.cpp:488 msgid "No Blending" msgstr "" #: bgdialog.cpp:489 msgid "Flat" msgstr "" #: bgdialog.cpp:492 msgid "Pyramid" msgstr "" #: bgdialog.cpp:493 msgid "Pipecross" msgstr "" #: bgdialog.cpp:494 msgid "Elliptic" msgstr "" #: bgdialog.cpp:495 msgid "Intensity" msgstr "" #: bgdialog.cpp:496 msgid "Saturation" msgstr "" #: bgdialog.cpp:497 msgid "Contrast" msgstr "" #: bgdialog.cpp:498 msgid "Hue Shift" msgstr "" #: bgdialog.cpp:655 msgid "Select Wallpaper" msgstr "" #: bgdialog.cpp:1259 bgdialog_ui.ui:300 #, no-c-format msgid "Get New Wallpapers" msgstr "" #: bgmonitor.cpp:164 msgid "" "This picture of a monitor contains a preview of what the current settings " "will look like on your desktop." msgstr "" #: bgwallpaper.cpp:99 msgid "Setup Slide Show" msgstr "" #: bgwallpaper.cpp:156 msgid "Select Image" msgstr "" #: main.cpp:71 msgid "kcmbackground" msgstr "" #: main.cpp:71 msgid "TDE Background Control Module" msgstr "" #: main.cpp:73 msgid "(c) 2009,2010 Timothy Pearson" msgstr "" #: bgadvanced_ui.ui:27 #, no-c-format msgid "Background Program" msgstr "" #: bgadvanced_ui.ui:44 bgwallpaper_ui.ui:113 #, no-c-format msgid "&Add..." msgstr "" #: bgadvanced_ui.ui:47 #, no-c-format msgid "" "\n" "

Click here if you want to add a program to the listbox. This button opens " "a dialog where you are asked to give details about the program you want to " "run. To successfully add a program, you must know if it is compatible, the " "name of the executable file and, if necessary, its options.

One useful example is the program kwebdesktop. It draws a web page on the " "background of your desktop. You can use this program by selecting it on the " "listbox on the right, but it will draw a predefined web page. To change the " "web page it renders, select the kwebdesktop program on the listbox, then " "click here. The K Web Desktop program (kwebdesktop) is worth noting: it draws " "a specified page of the web in your desktop. You can modify it, and the " "webpage it draws by selecting it here, then clicking on the Modify " "button.
